Joe Tate, US Air Force Veteran, Purple Heart, Alaska’s Healing Hearts Pro Staff Hunter
Joe was born in San Diego CA. He grew up racing off-road trucks and quads. He joined the Air Force at the young age of 17 in 1999. He started as an equipment operator, driving construction equipment to tractor-trailers. After 9/11 his career took a big left turn as his MOS was assigned to the Army. He started as a .50 cal gunner escorting military and civilian convoys. He moved to doing patrols and looking on the front line against insurgents. Joe served in 6 combat deployments with the Army and even the Marines. After 15 years, a Purple Heart and Bronze star among many other medals, he was medically retired from injuries received. After retiring Joe, now works on the North Slope spending summers doing what he loves. He is an avid hunter, and angler who began as a guest with AHH and has become a member of the Pro Staff . He spends his free time giving back to other vets and warriors in need. He loves to use his airboat “Bearly Wounded” to take military members and their families hunting, fishing, and sightseeing. Joe has been hunting for the majority of his life and turned his passion for the outdoors into his business.
